Whitney joined Acadia Sports Therapy’s team in 2023 and operates as our bracing specialist (custom and non-custom), and as both a sports massage therapist and athletic therapist. With four years at Acadia University as the Assistant Athletic Therapist, Whiteny is now the Lead Athletic Therapist for the Men’s Football team and works with the 10 other varsity sports team as well. Whitney also provides services to Basketball Canada’s Women’s National U17 program, where she represents Canada on the world stage. She has also worked with the 2022 National Women’s Football Team, the Canadian Football League (CFL), National Ballet of Canada, Rugby Canada, Volleyball Canada, as well as many provincial and local organizations.
Whitney is a Certified Athletic Therapist CAT(C), Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), Canadian Sport Massage Therapists Association Sport Candidate Member (CSMTASCM), and a Sport First Responder. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick, and with an Honors Bachelor of Applied Health Science in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College. She also holds a Diploma of Massage Therapy from the Ontario College of Health and Technology. Whitney is currently doing her Master of Applied Kinesiology, researching in depth cervical proprioception, balance, oculomotor, vestibular oculomotor (VOR) reflex, and pupil responses to pre and post-concussion testing. Whitney is certified in Soft Tissue Release, Cupping Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques (Level 1), and specializes in Sport Massage Therapy. She also has a keen interest in women’s health and concussion rehabilitation and management.
Whitney takes a holistic approach, and values getting to know her clients and their needs and goals throughout their prehab and recovery. She is dedicated to providing well-rounded treatments that encompass manual techniques, therapeutic exercise, soft tissue and joint mobilizations. Whitney enjoys getting outside, playing soccer, paddle boarding, and going on adventures with her dog, Ernie.
